Query Details

The purpose of query details area is a provide you a detailed instant snap shot of the current state of your search, including information on your query and colour coded search syntax, and applicable filters, number of results, citations pathway, query warnings and refinements.


Location

The query details feature is located between the page title and results on a search results page, analysis dashboard page, and between the page title and search form on the structured search page. If it’s not visible check the hide/show query details toggle attached to the main search bar.


How to Use

The query details document your current state of your search, in an easy to scan and logical format design to give you a snap shot of your search strategy.

Query Information

The query information line provides a color coded detail view of which data set you are interrogating, the number of results followed by your query represented in a color coded search syntax with highlighting on search index fields, boolean operators query errors.

When navigating to the citing patents or cited works data sets , your citations pathway is reflected in the query information along with refinements made within the joined data set. Queries can be cleared via the query information line at any time.

Filter Information

The query filters line provides a list of all included and excluded filter values, often grouped in relative categories, each filter can be cleared independently.

Show or Hide Query Details

Query details are displayed by default, but have the option to hide if necessary. If you cant see the query details by default or if you want to hide the query details to make more room on your screen you can hide/show query details with a toggle available under the main search bar.
